Our Community & COVID-19

The Temple Society Australia (TSA) acknowledges that we are living in uncertain, unprecedented times and appeals to the courage and compassion inherent in all of us to ensure that we prioritise the physical and mental health and well-being of each other, the health workers and the wider community.

As a community-based organisation, the TSA continues to make decisions in line with advice from the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and the Australian Government Department of Health in relation to Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The TSA is uniquely positioned – historically, collectively and socially – to manage this crisis. Our number one priority is the health and wellbeing of our community. We have the ability to mobilise support and resources where needed and will work together to get through this time and move forward as a community.

Regional Council decided to cancel or postpone all large events and services for the coming month, including the Easter period.

Some activities have also been voluntarily cancelled by Interest Groups and Focus Groups.

This situation will continually be reassessed by Regional Council, at least 4-weekly, with regular communication to our members and associates.

As a faith community, we are also looking at ways to best convey our Elders’ spiritual messaging in lieu of holding religious services. More details to come.

The status of all upcoming events are listed in this special edition of Templer Talk.
